Let Go of the Hurt and Forgive Them
Have you ever been hurt or felt very angry toward someone close to you? Perhaps they said something that was devastating to you or did something that triggered frustration or anger in you. This person is a big part of your life and they mean a lot to you but you can't seem to move past the hurt.
Why can't you just forgive them?
Forgiveness is not always easy!
Let’s gain some insight into why you should forgive:
- Holding on to hurt feelings and anger can cause you more harm and damage to the relationship.
- A grudge can grow to the point that it takes over your life. Grudges and resentment take time and energy that can be used in a more constructive manner such as repairing issues in your relationship.
- Your partner or loved one may realize their error and make it a point to be more considerate when they know they have been forgiven or that forgiveness is an option.
- Improved health can also be a side effect when you make the decision to forgive. There is less stress and tension.
Remember, the path to forgiveness may not be an easy road to travel, but when you learn to forgive, everybody wins!
